Welcome to The Weekend Itinerary. Every Friday I share a little recap of my week followed by ideas for how to spend your weekend.
This week is a bit different as I’m sharing more of a “recipe” for a great solo weekend, but I think you’ll love it!

✨ Silly Little Check-in ✨
Let’s do things a bit differently this week with a quick little photo diary from my week.
I’ve grown to really love a night with no plans, and Monday was that night for me. I took advantage and enjoyed a lovely long walk after work — it still feels magical that it’s light out after 7PM now!
Tuesday I met up with a friend after work for dinner at Spicy Moon, a fabulous vegan Szechuan restaurant with a few locations around the city. Of course the one photo I took of our food was a total fail, but know that everything was super tasty. I especially loved the kung pao tofu.
Wednesday I was supposed to go to a book event but ended up bailing as I had a headache after my first physical therapy appointment for TMJ (jaw) issues.
Thursday I went to a book club event at the Meta offices with authors Amanda Montell and Iman Hariri-Kia.
I could seriously listen to the two of them talk for hours.
You should absolutely pre-order both books — The Age of Magical Overthinking and The Most Famous Girl in the World.
And that’s a quick little look at my week.
I know that a solo weekend can feel a bit daunting. What are you going to do all weekend? How are you going to stay sane on your own?
On weekends like this, I love the formula of Friday for decompressing, Saturday for being alone with others, and Sunday for either exploring or getting sh*t done before the week ahead. Let me explain…
FRIDAY: Decompress. This is your night to chill after the week. Get takeout or delivery from your favorite spot. Light a candle and get cozy on the couch. Catch up on your favorite show, watch a movie, or read.
SATURDAY: Be alone with others. Sign up for something like a group fitness class or maybe that knitting workshop you’ve been meaning to try out. I find that even if I’m not hanging out with “my people” even doing an activity on my own but with others helps me feel like I socialized a little bit. Also if you do this multiple weekends in a row you’ll start to see the same people over and over again.
Later in the day do something culture-y on your own like go to a museum, see a movie, or theater.
SUNDAY: Explore and/or Get Sh*t done. This one is a choose-your-own-adventure, depending on what you need.
FOR EXPLORE: Choose a coffee shop, bookstore, or cute spot you’ve been meaning to check out that’s in another town or neighborhood. Use that as your jumping-off point to explore an area that’s different than where you usually go.
FOR GET SH*T DONE: Feeling overwhelmed for the week ahead? Use Sunday as your day to reset before the week ahead. I have my own little Sunday check-list that I try to go through and leaves me feeling settled and ready for the new week.
Hope you enjoy your weekend, I’ll see you on Sunday.

I love your weekend schedule! It allows plenty of time to relax but is methodical in also allowing time for productivity. I always get anxious as the weekend progresses because I feel like I haven’t spent enough time relaxing, but having dedicated days for both the “relax” mindset and the “be active and somewhat productive” mindset along with the different social levels is fantastic. Love it!
