✨ Silly Little Check-in ✨
Hiii! I’m not gonna lie, I’ve been feeling a bit overwhelmed this week.
Things have been a bit go-go-go lately. Leading up to my trip to Punta Cana I had a few exciting events, then I was on vacation, and since I’ve been back I’ve barely had a moment to catch my breath as I was out of town this weekend for Passover celebrations.
It’s all good things. But it can also feel like a lot.
I find at times like this I have to really zoom out for a second and figure out what needs to be prioritized. Things like keeping this newsletter going on my usual schedule are important to me, as is anything having to do with my 9-5 job. Working out is a non-negotiable for me. But sometimes this means being slow to answer emails for personal things or not being the most responsive to text messages.
It’s a bit of a vicious cycle as this then leads to me feeling guilty about the corners of my life where I’m not giving my attention.
The truth is I can’t do it all, none of us can.
I share this not to be all woe is me, but just to say if you’re feeling overwhelmed right now you’re not alone. And give yourself permission to do a little bit less.
What to read: Emily Henry’s new book Funny Story came out this week! I’ve been hearing great things about this opposites attract book.
What to listen to: Chappell Roan. I am beyond obsessed with her song Red Wine Supernova, but really all her music is great and just the perfect vibe for spring walks.
What to do: Celebrate Indie Bookstore Day this Saturday! Independent Bookstore Day is a one-day national party that takes place at indie bookstores across the country on the last Saturday in April. All stores are a bit different, but many will be hosting special events, author panels, and more.
Check out this map to find a participating store near you.
Also… we might be doing a little something this weekend at my 9-5 job, Bookshop.org. More info on Saturday 😉
Hope you have a lovely (and maybe restful!) weekend. See you on Sunday.
