Hiii! Happy Friday and welcome to this week’s edition of The Weekend Itinerary. Every Friday I share some recs for how to spend the weekend. Today’s is a bit of a grab bag of things to read, watch, and listen to.
✨ Silly Little Check-in ✨
A few weeks ago I talked about participating in Jami Attenberg’s 1000 Words of Summer. I started so strong and excited. And then… life got in the way. I didn’t have a chance to write one day because I got home late from seeing a show after work. Of course, this turned into many days and I never returned to it.
I was talking about this with my boyfriend today. About how life has been feeling extra full and busy, especially lately. This is something I’ve said many times, but wow do I feel it right now.
Some things have to be a priority. My 9-5 job, for instance. Other things I want to be a priority. Working out is a non-negotiable for me. But then there is all this other stuff, and I have to figure out the hierarchy of what’s a priority for me vs. not.
In the summer, an important thing to me is enjoying summer. Saying YES to rooftop barbeques and birthday celebrations at an outdoor patio. But to say YES to that, I usually have to say NO to something else.
As the cliche goes, you can do anything but not everything. I seem to think I can do everything, but I end up feeling like I’m flailing trying to keep up.
I am figuring out what the hierarchy looks like for myself in this exact season. While I’m sad staying consistent with my 1000 Words didn’t make the cut this time around, but it doesn’t mean it won’t in the future.
On that note, today’s itinerary is a bit on the shorter side as things have been a bit chaotic this week. Thank you for understanding, I hope to have a bit more bandwidth next week.
What to read this weekend: One of my favorite authors, Laura Hankin has a new book out! It’s called One-Star Romance and I’ve been hearing such good things about it. It’s a rom-com about a bridesmaid who is forced to walk down the aisle with a guy who gave her book a bad review.
What to watch this weekend: I personally will be rewatching the movie Inside Out and then heading to see Inside Out 2 in theaters
What to listen to this weekend: Lawrence’s new album The Family Business came out today. I am already LOVING it.
